The Benagil Express Gold Tour last's 2hours, and departs from Portimão, heading eastwards. You pass the castle of S. João do Arade at Ferragudo and head out to sea, following the coastline of cliffs and coves, passing the amazing rock formations at Boneca and Algar Seco, past the beaches of Carvoeiro, Centeanes and Carvalho, before coming to Benagil where you can see one of the most famous sea caves. All along the route, the Benagil Express takes you into 10 or 12 different caves (depending on the sea and weather conditions), all stunning in their natural beauty. Past Benagil, time to see the gorgeous sea arches at Praia da Marinha, considered one of the most picturesque beaches in Europe and to enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea, if you wish.(Swimming subjecto to sea conditions)

If the sea conditions allow we completelly enter the Algar de Benagil, i.e. the famous Benagil cave.

Stunning Shoreline

Even though the seas were a little rough, we felt we had a very full experience. Dolphins, stunning cave and shoreline features and a fun and friendly crew.

Cave hopping in the Algarve

We enjoyed navigating through the various caves in the Algarve region, with the highlight being the Benagil caves. The cliffs and rock formations were incredible.

Not to be missed in Algarva

Benegil is easily the best part. This tour is 2 hrs long on a 15 person high speed boat with seats that you straddle although there were a few in the back that sits traditionally. We saw and went into a few caves but Benegil is the biggest and with a beach inside. Our captain allowed us about 10 min inside the cave probably because it was less crowded during the time we chose which was their last time slot. Past by beautiful caves and cliffs with different colors and formations. Great ride and tour.

Boa alternativa para visitar as caves

For us it was the alternative to a tour from Carvoeiro.
It takes 30 min more, but you can enter the boat easily without getting your feet wet. Very modern boat that worked well in windy conditions. Seating looks unfamiliar at first but is indeed comfortable. Boat is small enough to enter the caves. Guides were superb in making us Smileys.

Fun in the caves of Algarve!

Juan from Moldova was great! He was entertaining and very knowledgeable about the caves. A must see if in Algarve region. We had a beautiful day and a fun, if bumpy, ride past beautiful beaches and amazing caves. I was very glad that we did not sign up for the kayak trip but it would have been fun for some.
